How to Reach Sibaltan: Travel Tips for Northern Palawan
Nestled in northern Palawan, Sibaltan remains off the mainstream tourist map, making it a fantastic spot for those seeking authentic island life. Whether you’re planning a longer stay or just a stopover on your Palawan adventure, getting here will take at least a couple of steps—but the journey is part of the experience!
From Manila
- Fly to El Nido
Airswift offers direct flights to El Nido (1 hour), bringing you closest to Sibaltan. - Fly to Puerto Princesa
AirAsia, Cebu Pacific, or Philippine Airlines all fly to Puerto Princesa (1 hour). - Fly to Coron
Options include Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, SkyJet, and Air Juan (1 hour). - Take a Ferry
If you want to travel by sea, 2Go ferries offer options from Manila to Coron (12–15 hours) or Puerto Princesa (21–25 hours).


From Puerto Princesa to Sibaltan
For those arriving in Puerto Princesa, it’s a 5–6-hour van ride to Sibaltan. You can take a direct van or, for a more relaxed journey, make stops at Port Barton and El Nido along the way to break up your trip.
From El Nido to Sibaltan
Getting to Sibaltan from El Nido town is easy and takes just about an hour by van. While there are shared vans to Sibaltan, please note that their schedules can vary. A shared van ride costs PHP 250 per person. Alternatively, for more convenience, we also offer private transfers in either a car or van for PHP 2,500 one way, or PHP 4,500 for a round trip. Just let us know, and we’ll be happy to arrange it for you!
For the adventurous, renting a scooter is another way to make the trip up north. A quick tip for Google Maps users: although it may suggest a shorter route away from the main highway, this path is still being developed and could take significantly longer.
From Coron to Sibaltan
If you’re arriving from Coron, you can either:
- Take a Fast Ferry (4 hours) to El Nido, then a quick van ride to Sibaltan.
- Join an Expedition – For a true adventure, join a multi-day boat expedition through the beautiful Linapacan islands. You’ll end your journey in El Nido, from where you can catch a van to Sibaltan.
